The Wests Tigers have re-signed five-eighth Adam Doueihi for a further 12 months in a move that sorts out one piece of the playmaking puzzle for 2024.

Doeuihi’s deal was set to expire at the end of the season with rumours linking him with a move to a rival club with the Tigers in the market for Parramatta’s Mitch Moses.

Where Moses lands next season is one of the hottest topics with the Tigers and Eels locked in a bidding war for one of the game’s elite halfbacks who could be tempted to link up with his Lebanese teammate.

There’s also a huge question mark as to where Luke Brooks will be in 2024 with the Tigers halfback approaching the final year of his mega deal.

Doueihi, 24, played 11 games last season after returning midway through the year from an ACL injury.

He was terrific for Lebanon at the World Cup and has another season to build on his game under Tim Sheens with legendary five-eighth Benji Marshall on deck to help him hone his craft.

“I’m really happy to extend my stay here at Wests Tigers,” he said.

“We’ve all trained hard in pre-season and our team is in great shape.

“For me personally, I’m fully fit and hoping to be the best I can be.”

The local junior has spoken glowingly of the changes at the club in the off-season and is relishing the opportunity of playing under a new system after a difficult 2022.

“Adam is a local junior and a very important part of this club,” Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe said.

“He demonstrates our club values daily and we all look forward to Adam having a strong season in 2023, and beyond.”
