Trent Robinson won’t coach the Sydney Roosters in round 4
Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson is the second coach to miss a game this NRL season through Covid protocols.
The Sydney Roosters will take on the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday night without coach Trent Robinson after he tested positive to Covid-19.
Robinson said he was “feeling fine” but was put into self-isolation under NSW public health orders meaning he can’t make the trip to Townsville for the clash with North Queensland.
“I’m feeling fine and am very comfortable with the plans we have in place, and I’ll be back at the club next week,” Robinson said in a club statement on Tuesday.
Roosters assistants Jason Ryles and Matt King are likely to take charge of the side for Saturday night’s game.

The Roosters are 13th on the NRL table after the opening three rounds with losses to Newcastle in round 1 and last weekend to South Sydney.
They take on a North Queensland side that powered over the Brisbane Broncos 38-12 last weekend and sits second on the NRL table with two wins from three games.
It comes after Cronulla coach Craig Fitzgibbon missed Round 1 — his debut game — after contracting Covid-19.
