NRL SuperCoach Last Word round two
THERE are two SuperCoach goals over the next fortnight.
THERE are two SuperCoach goals over the next fortnight.
Firstly, buy players set for massive price surges. Secondly, sell players set for massive price drops (unless they are genuine keepers).
Note, player prices don't change until after their third game, so in most cases, you have this week and next to achieve these goals.

In terms of cheapies, the best players to look for are ones with low break even scores.
This is the score a player needs for his price to stay the same.
A small break even therefore means the player's price is set to rise. A high break even signals a price drop. A minus break even means the player just needs to take the field to get a price rise.
At this stage, George Burgess (break even -123) is set for the biggest price rise, followed by Matt McIlwrick (61), Nathan Smith (-56), Albert Kelly (-49), Jack Buchanan (-42), Mahe Fonua (-33), Jacob Loko (-20) and Ryan James (-18). These are the players to be getting into your side.
Cheapies set for only small rises include David Klemmer (4), Sebastine Ikahihifo (12), Dale Finucane (15) and Justin Horo (18). These are the players to give another chance this week, with an eye to selling if they don't perform.
Cheapies set to drop in price include Cameron King (35), Daniel Tupou (36), Tim Browne (36), Jesse Sene-Lefao (47) and Jacob Miller (61). These are the players to consider selling either this week or next, given loading your side with the right cheapies at the start of the year is essential to making money and therefore building a strong team
Mid-range players set for price rises include Chris Sandow (-91), Daly Cherry-Evans (-47), Chris McQueen (-40), James Segeyaro (-33), Matt Gillett (-13), Ben Lowe (-10) and Lewis Brown (-8). These are players to consider buying, but there is no harm waiting until next week to see if they can keep their form up.
Players set for massive price drops include Shaun Fensom (128), Corey Parker (112) and Liam Fulton (96). These are players to consider selling.

Also keep an eye on proven performers set for massive price drops as they could fall to bargain prices over coming weeks. Examples include Jarrod Croker (144), Brett Morris (125), Krisnan Inu (123), Benji Marshall (112) and Feleti Mateo (109).
Player of the round
George Burgess
Great attacking stats. Great work rate. And the potential for even more minutes with brother Sam out through suspension.
Buy
Jack Buchanan
The star youngster is a favourite of new coach Mick Potter after again being named to start ahead of Aaron Woods. Played 41 minutes on the weekend – almost unheard of for a rookie prop.
$87,500
Hold
Sam Burgess
Forget his one game suspension and lucklustre stats in round one (despite a brilliant showing in actual NRL), Burgess is a genuine SuperCoach keeper who should never be sold but for injury.
$328,000
Sell
Corey Parker
The former SuperCoach superstar has been hit by a fantasy triple whammy – reduced minutes, loss of the kicking duties and the 8m rule. He will see a huge price drop.
Winning tips:
“Be careful of ‘reactive’ trades. Avoid trading out proven players who underperformed in week one. Be patient and save those trades for later” – Matt Mullen 2009 winner
"Don't fall into the trap of buying a player whose scores may have been inflated due to a try or two. Look further into their score and ensure they have enough base points (tackles and hitups) to justify the trade.” Martin Bigg 2011 winner
“Don’t pull the trigger too quickly on the average performers from last round. Hold on until next week before moving to trade any mid-range players who are going to drop in value.” Ken Billingham 2012 winner
