Smith was clearly in a good mood after his side’s 48-4 thrashing of Newcastle on Saturday night and decided to show off his renowned sense of humour.
On Sunday, the 25-year-old shared videos to his Instagram stories of his teammates packing their bags and getting ready to board the team bus.
In the footage, Smith is seen unzipping a bag labelled ‘CM’ for Craig Bellamy.
He then proceeds to covertly fill his own coach’s bag with rocks from along the side of the road.
The star hooker acknowledged he was being very cheeky, captioning the video: “Might be getting dropped this week”.
In a subsequent video, Bellamy struggles to lift up his bag, which is weighed down by rocks, much to the delight of Smith’s teammate Josh Addo-Carr, who giggled at the prank.
Smith is renowned for being one of the most mischievous players in the NRL.
After the Storm’s win over the Knights, the man nicknamed “The Cheese” was spotted tucking into a full pizza in the change rooms as coach Bellamy strolled past.

And this latest prank on Bellamy is not the first time Smith has played a practical joke on the veteran coach.
In last year’s final series, Smith was caught red-handed making Bellamy’s grandson cry because he was playing mind games with his coach.
As the Storm marched onto their bus bound for Brisbane ahead of its 36-24 qualifying final win over Parramatta at Suncorp Stadium, supporters at the club’s Sunshine Coast base made a guard of honour to wish them well.
Among the fans was Bellamy’s grandson but Smith showed him no love at all, casually plucking a lollipop out of the unsuspecting youngster’s hand as he strolled past.
The problem — apart from the bleeding obvious of Smith bringing the little fella to tears — was the Storm utility was unaware he had a camera trained on him, which captured his every move.
It’s why the New Zealander was forced to wear headgear during a live TV interview, because he was declared “goose of the week” for his cold-blooded crime.
“They had a little wall for us before we got on the bus to go away for our trip to play at Suncorp,” Smith said.
“I thought I’d get one up on Bellamy and I stole his grandson’s lollipop.
He is certainly one brave customer.
