Harry Grant injured hamstring in brutal Origin blow
Queensland’s chances of turning around the 50-6 Origin 1 capitulation have just been made harder with a brutal blow.
Queensland’s chances of sending the State of Origin series to a decider have been dealt a blow with hooker Harry Grant in serious doubt for game 2.
Grant reportedly suffered a hamstring injury in Melbourne’s 66-16 thrashing of the Wests Tigers on Saturday night which looks to rule him out of Origin II.

It comes after Grant was criticised on the back of the 50-6 Origin drubbing, having come into the game without match fitness and fading as the match went on.
It also adds another headache as the man seemingly second in line for the position — Parramatta’s Reed Mahoney — was injured after being released from Origin camp before game one.
It means that St George Illawarra halfback Ben Hunt and hooker Andrew McCullough will come into calculations when the Maroons team is announced on Monday.
Triple M’s Ben Dobbin reported that Grant will be ruled out of contention after tweaking his hamstring in the rout of the Tigers.

Problems mounting for @QLDmaroons. Harry Grant now in doubt for Origin II with new hamstring problem. Ben Hunt and potentially Andrew McCullough options given Reed Mahoney is still on sidelines

The NRL Physio added that Grant would be ruled out after “aggravating previous hamstring injury last night. Unfortunately high recurrence rate typical for hamstring strains. Scans to assess severity but near on impossible to play in a week with even the most minor of re-injuries.”
It comes as Cameron Munster admitted that he was now fully fit and that he shouldn’t have played in game one.
