South Sydney players stand behind Greg Inglis over Dean Young hit

SOUTH Sydney players yesterday said Dean Young was already falling in the tackle when he was met by a sickening hit from Rabbitohs star Greg Inglis.

SOUTH Sydney players yesterday said Dean Young was already falling in the tackle when he was met by a sickening hit from Rabbitohs star Greg Inglis on Saturday night.

Centre Dylan Farrell, who had the best view of the tackle as he was in the process of dragging Young to the ground, said: "The first contact Greg has made, he's hit him with his chest. Greg is a lot taller, and Dean also had me coming down on him, so it's brought his (target) down. It all happened so quickly, and wasn't too bad. I shut my eye as there was about to be contact and knew the tackle was coming."

The match review committee is likely to charge Inglis given the contact with Young's head. While shoulder charges are deemed perfectly legal, committee chairman Greg McCallum has stressed on several occasions in the past there was little room for error, and players would land in hot water if they came into contact with the head.
