FORMER Warrior Shaun Berrigan has put his hand up to play in the halves against his old club should young playmaker Sam Williams be ruled out for the Raiders' final regular NRL season clash on Sunday.

Williams was taken off the field with a left shoulder injury during Canberra's 34-6 thrashing of Canterbury last Friday and scans will reveal the extent of the damage.

Canberra coach David Furner said he was toying with some options for the clash against the New Zealand Warriors if doctors rule the youngster needs a spell on the sidelines.

Berrigan looms as the most likely choice, having replaced Williams against the Bulldogs. "It's early in the week (but) wherever Dave needs me, I'll put my hand up and play my best," Berrigan said.
