With criticism the NRL is starting to ‘rival gridiron’, the Bunker could soon intervene on those contentious forward pass calls.

However, following a shocking refereeing blunder, the Bunker could soon rule on forward passes according to The Daily Telegraph.

The move comes after Reece Walsh’s forward pass was missed in the lead up to a Jordan Riki try in the Broncos’ preliminary final win over the Warriors.
Video review officials have been unable to officiate on forward passes since 2001, but ARLC chairman Peter V’landys could spark a change.
Any technologies that could solve the issue have been put on the backburner, with the cost of its implementation cited as a major issue.

The ARLC will reportedly discuss the Bunker’s intervention on forward passes after the conclusion of the regular season.
“We should look at it, absolutely,” V’landys said to News Corp
Any help we can give the referees we should.
“I have the greatest admiration for the job all of our referees do.
“But any assistance we can give them to relieve some of the pressure would be commonsense.
“We’ll look at it during the off-season in our general review.”
