With players surrounded by throngs of fans, a supporter in a Panthers jumper supposedly made a comment to Walsh that the 21-year-old didn’t take kindly to.

After being told that Panthers prop Moses Leota was “going to take your head off”, Walsh bit back instantly by responding: “I’ll take your mums.”

On Tuesday footage whipped around social media showing Penrith enforcer James Fisher-Harris delivering the not-so-subtle jab.

As the camera pans around, Fisher-Harris simply says “your mum”.

Other Penrith players, appearing intoxicated, are heard to say: “Whose mum? Whose mum?”

They also appear to say: “Your dad’s mum.”

The Panthers kept the party going after their historic threepeat on Sunday night, with players dressing up as movie stars, UFC fighters and WWE wrestlers at Mad Monday celebrations.

There were fake tattoos and bears as the players went all out at the Drink West Brewery which is part owned by Nathan Cleary and UFC stars Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasaand Tyson Pedro.

Star fullback Dylan Edwards was a Stormtrooper from Star Wars, while fellow outside backs Stephen Crichton, Brian To’o and Sunia Turuva dress up as Squid Game contestants.

Kiwi backrower Scott Sorensen went as Conor McGregor and even donned the UFC star’s famous ‘Notorious’ tattoo.

Taylan May was injured for the entire 2023 season but still took part in celebrations and went as a Samurai warrior.
