‘Our discipline is terrible’: Justin Olam and Brent Naden facing bans as coach calls out Wests Tigers’ biggest issue
Discipline is starting to cost the Wests Tigers dearly with two players facing bans after they spent time in the sin bin at Magic Round.
The Wests Tigers have been dealt a double blow with centre pairing Justin Olam and Brent Naden both facing one-game bans following the 24-12 loss to the Dolphins.
It’s another frustrating setback for coach Benji Marshall who has bemoaned his side’s lack of discipline, with Naden’s brain snap just before half-time hard to explain given there was no need to whack Jack Bostock high given the play was dead.
The Tigers have now had six players sent to the sin bin in their past four matches, with Olam also facing one week on the sidelines after he was charged with making grade two dangerous contact on Jamayne Isaako in the final match of Magic Round.
They’ve now lost seven on the trot and face a tough trip to Townsville.
Justin Olam gets sent to the sin bin for this dangerous tackle.

“Justin Olam’s one I can understand. He was getting a piggyback ride but then we are playing with 11. It just doesn’t help,” Marshall said.
“It is frustrating and the message the last six weeks is that we keep beating ourselves.
“If we can’t change that, then the people have to change.
“Our discipline is terrible and we need to find players that are more disciplined.”
There were three other players charged out of Sunday’s games with Nelson Asofa-Solomona, James Fisher-Harris and Jackson Ford all offered $1000 fines.
