NSW Police drop charges against NRL star Josh Reynolds

NSW Police have dramatically dropped all charges against NRL star Josh Reynolds following extraordinary accusations against his former partner.

Josh Reynolds has had all charges dropped.

NSW Police have dropped domestic violence charges against Wests Tigers star Josh Reynolds.

Reynolds was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in December relating to an alleged domestic violence incident.

NSW Police originally confirmed Reynolds former long-term partner Arabella Del Busso reported she was the victim of an alleged assault which she claimed to have occurred at his Caringbah South home in September.

Police had accused Reynolds of causing bruising to Del Busso’s right arm and left leg during an alleged incident on September 12.

Reynolds earlier this month pleaded non guilty to the charges.

His legal team told a Sydney court Del Busso, whose real name is Donna Preusker, has a history of deception and false aliases, used to exploit several former partners.

The case took a dramatic twist on Wednesday morning when NSW Police informed Reynolds’ lawyer that all charges against the 30-year-old had been dropped.

Former NSW State of Origin star Josh Reynolds had already been cleared to return to football by the NRL.

The news was first reported by 2GB Radio host Ray Hadley.

“That would be a satisfactory outcome for him,” Hadley said.

“He’s been to hell and back in relation to all of this.

“The charges against Josh Reynolds will be withdrawn and so they bloody well ought to be.”

Reynolds’ lawyer Dan McGirr confirmed the former NSW State of Origin star has been informed of the dramatic development.

“He’s very relieved as you can imagine,” Mr McGirr said.

Reynolds was earlier this year cleared by the NRL to return to the field for the Wests Tigers and made his comeback in the club’s trial loss to the Panthers in Penrith over the weekend.

The former Bulldogs cult hero has already turned his attention to football matters and his goals for the 2020 NRL season.

The long-time playmaker is now considering a move to No. 9 for the Tigers in 2020 as coach Michael Maguire tries to find his best spine combinations before the start of the season.

Reynolds had no hesitation putting his hand up for the role despite being a five-eighth for most of his career.

“I’d love to, 100 per cent,” Reynolds said.

“That’s what I’m striving for. I just want to be a part of this team. I’ve got a really, really good feeling that we’re moving in the right direction.”
