NRL SuperCoach 2025: A total of seven players win dual position status for round 6
Log into the SuperCoach app now and a total of seven players are now selectable in another position – and there are some big SuperCoach winners.
Lockout is open for round 6 which means one thing for SuperCoaches - dual position updates.
Log into the app now and you’ll see a total of seven players are now selectable in another position.
The biggest winners are Gold Coast cheapie prospect Jaylan De Groot, who wins CTW/FLB status, and Demitric Vaimauga, who has had FRF added to 2RF.
MEET THE 7 NEW DPPS
Jaylan De Groot - FLB added to CTW
Played fullback on the weekend for a second week in place of the injured Keano Kini. Under regular DDP rules, De Groot didn’t notch the three starts required to win a new position.
But at the end of the day, the whole idea of DPP updates is to have players available in the position they actually play, so we have applied common-sense here.
Kini is out long-term and De Groot is the replacement and has little competition. He therefore earns dual status even though he has only started at fullback twice. His cheapie claims have therefore soared.
Demitric Vaimauga - FRF added to 2RF
Has played almost solely as a middle for the Warriors and therefore wins FRF status.
Sitili Tupouniua - FRF added to 2RF
The former Rooster has played almost solely as a middle this year for the Bulldogs, even with Viliame Kikau out.
Bailey Hayward - 5/8 added to 2RF
Has played three games in a row at five-eighth in place of the injured Matt Burton and therefore earns that position for SuperCoach.
Jazz Tevaga - HOK added to 2RF
Previously 2RF only, Tevaga has started five games at hooker for new club the Sea Eagles.
Harry Hayes - 2RF added to CTW
The former centre has converted into a forward, where he has played all his footy in 2025 from the bench.
Hugo Savala - 2RF added to HFB
Savala came through the grades as a halfback (and a large one at that). But as a true utility who can play literally any role on the field, he’s mostly played in the pack in his three games and therefore wins 2RF status.
MISSED DUAL
Latrell Mitchell - Currently FLB only, CTW and 5/8 potential
Mitchell returned from a hamstring injury on the weekend at centre. He later switched to five-eighth when Jamie Humphreys and Cody Walker went down injured. However, South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett says Latrell’s move out of the No. 1 jersey is only short term.
“Latrell is our fullback and he will be our fullback, there’s no doubt in my mind about that,” Bennett said.
If Latrell starts two more games at centre, or two more games at five-eighth, he will earn dual status in the next positional updates in round 12.
Tom Jenkins - Currently CTW only, FLB potential
Played fullback in his first game of the year but played centre the last two weeks.
Jack Williams - Currently 2RF only, FRF potential
Played the opening two matches in the back row but switched to prop in round 3 before going down for six weeks with a knee injury.
Daine Laurie – Currently FLB only, CTW potential
Named in the No. 14 for round 1, Laurie ended up playing 77 minutes on the wing when Casey McLean copped a concussion. But he’s played only fullback since.
Luke Garner - Currently 2RF only, CTW potential
Played centre in Las Vegas but has reverted to the pack in recent weeks.
ALREADY WON DUAL POSITION AHEAD OF ROUND 1
Luke Metcalf - HFB added to 5/8
Patrick Carrigan - FRF added to 2RF
Alexander Brimson - 5/8 added to CTW
Taine Tuaupiki - CTW added to FLB
Toby Couchman - FRF added to 2RF
NO DEAL (ie: the “we got it wrong” list)
Fletcher Sharpe - Currently CTW/FLB
More Coverage
While Sharpe is making a great fist of the five-eighth spot for the Knights, DPP rules dictate that we can’t add another position as players have a maximum of two positions.
Jayden Campbell - Currently 5-8/FLB
Playing halfback for the Titans but available for SuperCoach at FLB and 5/8, which were the only positions he played last season.
