NRL fans lose it as Eels coach Brad Arthur becomes instant meme
A hilarious image in the coach’s box during his side’s clash with the Broncos has seen Eels boss Brad Arthur become an instant meme.
Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur is a seriously thirsty man.
Rugby league fans had a chuckle at a bizarre sight during Parramatta’s Round 6 clash with the Brisbane Broncos in Darwin on Friday night.
After the Eels conceded a penalty right in front of the posts in the early stages, the cameras cut to Arthur in the coach’s box.

Viewers immediately noticed there were nine water bottles sitting neatly in front of Arthur.
Fox League commentator Warren Smith said: “Brad Arthur with his usual 48 bottles of water that he has in front of up here in Darwin.
“We might keep a tally and see how many he has by full time.”
Steve Roach said: “I hope he throws them in the bin straight after he uses them. He’s got nine bottles up there at the moment.”
Smith added: “Some tenpin bowling perhaps? He’s got a fair spare in front of him.”
The Eels coach is renowned for ploughing through countless water bottles during games, but this took it to a new level in the sweltering conditions in the Top End.
In total, the nine 600mL Mount Franklin water bottles added up to 5.4 litres of water.
It would be some feat if Arthur could drink them all during the game, with some fans speculating he must have the strongest bladder known to man.
Some joked that Arthur could make a few dollars if he recycled the water bottles via a container deposit scheme, while others urged him to consider getting a reusable bottle.
Serious question, how much of the game does Brad Arthur miss going to the toilet?

You reckon Brad Arthur does return and earn? The bloke goes through that many bottles of water he could make 20 bucks a week if he recycled. #NRLEelsBroncos

Arthur might have needed all that water to avoid sweating through a disastrous first half for his side.
Apart from a try to Eels skipper Clint Gutherson, it was all Brisbane in the opening 40 minutes.
Herbie Farnworth scored first for the Broncos, before Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam and Kotoni Staggs all crossed within a 10-minute span to lead 22-6 at halftime.
The Eels fought back in the second half but the Broncos held on for a 22-16 win to move four points clear at the top of the ladder midway through Round 8.
