NRL 2016: Roosters v South Sydney Rabbitohs, Gold Coast Titans v Newcastle Knights live scores, blog
THE Titans have done their bit to abolish wooden spoon talk, while the Rabbitohs punished the Roosters where it hurts. Re-live the action!
ROOKIE halfback Ashley Taylor has inspired the Titans to a confident 30-12 win over Newcastle at Cbus Super Stadium.
Playing alongside former Knights half Tyrone Roberts, Taylor settled into his role as the Titans playmaker with ease despite the greasy conditions.
Roberts was also impressive on his first outing for his new club, while fellow Titans debutants John Olive and Zeb Taia scored tries.
The Knights’ two tries were scored by Pat Mata’utia and Daniel Saifiti, both of whom were also playing their NRL debut.
Earlier, the Rabbitohs were ruthless against the Roosters, demolishing the “Bondi Wall” that has held up their arch rival through recent seasons.
However, it was a costly win for the Rabbitohs, who will be praying for star halfback Adam Reynolds and second-rower John Sutton.
Reynolds looked to have broken his jaw after colliding with the hip of Roosters prop Kane Evans, while Sutton came off with two minutes remaining with a pectoral injury.
