WAYNE Bennett has finally been fined for not co-operating with the media.

The Knights coach was issued with a $500 breach notice for failing to conduct a pre-game interview with Fox Sports before his team's round 21 match against Canberra at Canberra Stadium.

NRL rules clearly state a coach must agree to a pre-match interview with the game's host broadcasters, Channel Nine or Fox Sports.

The NRL has finally introduced additional media guidelines allowing more access to players.

Clubs must arrange a press day once a week where eight players are made available for interview by the print and electronic media.

At least one club has already been fined for not complying.
