League Central: Round 23 - Panthers v Raiders

THE Ivan Cleary-Phil Gould Panthers revolution is happening - but departing flyer Michael Gordon says it's a shame he won't be around to witness it.

Gordon could not be happier to be joining Cronulla next season after eight years at the foot of the mountains.

But he is sad he won't be part of the Penrith revamp by coach Cleary and general manager Gould.

It's been tough at the Panthers, with Michael Jennings and Lachlan Coote punted to NSW Cup at different stages this year, then club favourite Luke Lewis virtually forced out to join the Sharks.

Gordon said the biggest shake-up was happening behind the scenes.

For starters, Cleary and Gould have urged the players to get out to the community and promote the club.

Gordon was at St Marys North Public School, helping launch an Adidas School Fun Run program.

Gordon also supported Cleary's no-nonsense approach. "It's his way, and if you're not on board, you'll butt heads.

"I think with Gus (Gould) and Ivan on board, you can only see this club heading in the right direction," Gordon said.

"While you might not see it on the field, off the field the club is going forward in leaps and bounds.

"When you think of Penrith you should think of the Panthers, but if you go around Penrith, nobody really supports Penrith. We're trying to get the community back."
