Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles tie up winger Jorge Taufua to new two-year deal
MANLY, still chasing the signature of star fullback Brett Stewart, this morning announced they've re-signed winger Jorge Taufua.
THEY may still be chasing the signature of star fullback Brett Stewart, but Manly this morning announced they have re-signed speedster Jorge Taufua on a two-year-deal.
Just 24 hours after the club lost winger Michael Oldfield to the Roosters, the Sea Eagles have held on to 20-year-old Taufua, who leap-frogged Oldfield into Manly's starting line-up earlier this year.
The Wentworthville junior has played in the centres and on the wing for the Sea Eagles since making his debut in round four.
Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey said Taufua has the potential to become a star in the NRL.
"We're very excited about the prospect of working with Jorge over the next few seasons,'' Toovey said.
"He trained hard during the off season and has made the most of his opportunities so far this year. He's a real asset to the club.''
