NEWCASTLE could be without Daniel Saifiti and Jake Mamo for Sunday’s clash with high-flying Cronulla after the pair were each charged by the NRL match review panel.

Each face at least one match on the sideline for their respective second-half charges, while they could be out for two weeks if they opt to fight their charges at the judiciary and lose.

Front-rower Saifiti has been cited for a grade-one shoulder charge on Melbourne fullback Cameron Munster in Sunday’s 20-16 loss, while winger Mamo was slapped with a grade-one sanction for making dangerous contact with Tohu Harris’ head and neck region.

Sione Mata’utia was also charged with a grade-one careless high tackle on Dale Finucane, however he will narrowly escape suspension with an early guilty plea.

Meanwhile Penrith’s Leilani Latu has become the latest player to be charged with tripping, but will avoid suspension for his incident on Parramatta five-eighth Clinton Gutherson.
