THE Junior Kangaroos have named a team brimming with NRL experience for their October 13 Test against New Zealand.

THE Junior Kangaroos have named a team brimming with NRL experience for their October 13 Test against New Zealand.

A total of nine players – or half the 18-man squad – have played NRL footy this year, including the entire backline: Lachlan Maranta (Brisbane), Edrick Lee (Canberra), Cheyse Blair (Parramatta), Tautau Moga (Roosters), Mahe Fonua (Storm), Jack Wighton (Raiders) and Jacob Miller (Tigers).

NRL forwards Jack Stockwell (Dragons) and Alex McKinnon (Knights) were also selected.

McKinnon played all 24 games for Newcastle this year as well as two matches for the Dragons last season, making him the most experienced player in the side. 

The match will be played as a curtain-raiser for Australia’s senior end-of-season Test against New Zealand in Townsville.
