A SMALL section of disgruntled NRL fans have demanded Channel 9 star Erin Molan make a public apology to an NRL star.

The Footy Show host has been attacked on social media following her response to shock claims dragging her into the ongoing legal dispute between former TV presenter Kelly Landry and her estranged husband Anthony Bell.

A series of text messages from Landry to Bell presented to the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney on Tuesday showed Landry suspected “something was going on” between Molan and her estranged partner.

Ms Landry has now conceded there was no affair between Erin Molan and her husband.

Landry, 37, is seeking a final apprehended violence order against her husband after an interim order was granted earlier this year.

Molan responded to the text messages by saying it was “so unfair” that she has been suspected of having an affair with the “accountant to the stars”.

Molan’s claim that the link is “unfair” attracted an incredulous response from some fans, who have drawn a line between Molan’s complaints and previous comments the 34-year-old has made about public scandals surrounding NRL stars.

Molan has previously won plenty of admiration for her public condemnation of domestic violence and made a bold stand against the issue when it was first reported Parramatta star Semi Radradra had been charged with three domestic violence offences.

Radradra’s former partner Perina Ting had accused him of punching her in the face in November 2014 and pushing her into a wall in 2015 before all charges against Radradra were dropped on Tuesday during a hearing at Parramatta Local Court.

Molan was hailed for her call for the game to dismiss any player found guilty of domestic violence when it was first reported Radradra would have to face court to answer the domestic violence charges.

“I just want to say something here, because I feel really strongly about this, and I want to preface it by saying that the presumption of innocence 100 per cent should be afforded to Semi because he does deserve that, these are only allegations at this stage,” she told The Footy Show in June, 2016.

“But if this is proven to be true, and our game does not take an incredibly tough, strong stance against this, then we are condoning domestic violence.

“We are saying to every kid, every teenager, every man out there that it is OK to be violent against women.

“We cannot support White Ribbon as a code and we cannot support domestic violence awareness, raise money for all these great causes if we’re not going to walk the walk.

“It has to stop. It’s enough. It’s too much.

“The victims of domestic violence live with the impact of being hurt physically for the rest of their lives.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a superstar, or you’re on big money or you’re a really big deal. It is not OK, ever.”

Some fans believe Molan did not truly afford Radrada the presumption of innocence — despite her clearly stating the winger deserved that basic right.

A number of fans appeared to accuse Molan of double standards after she described the public allegations tabled against her as “unfair”.

Molan also made public statements surrounding axed Kangaroos star Josh Papalii last week, declaring there were “bigger things at play” in regards to the Raiders star’s drink-driving conviction.

“I’m trying to put this so it’s not too controversial, but the Raiders I know are much more concerned about the reason why he had to leave his place,” Molan told WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda.

“He wasn’t leaving Jarrod Crocker, the captain’s, engagement party.

“He was already at home. And he had to leave home and the Raiders are very concerned as to why he had to leave home.

“So he had to leave home and then he called the police. I do not condone driving drunk, but there are other things at play. There are bigger things at play.”

Bell’s and Landry’s court hearing is ongoing.
