IN-FORM playmaker Corey Norman could be forced to leave Parramatta due to the salary cap scandal engulfing the club.

Corey Norman’s manager Paul Sutton has confirmed the inform playmaker could be forced out of Parramatta due to the salary cap scandal.

It’s understood the Eels must immediately shed players to get under the salary cap this season if they want to play for points.

Norman’s manager fears his off-contract star could be in the firing line.

The five-eighth is currently demanding north of $800,000 a season and this could be unrealistic depending on Parramatta’s situation.

This comes after Parramatta was officially docked 12 competition points and fined $1 million dollars by the NRL on Tuesday morning for breaching the salary cap.

The club also has five officials — chairman Steve Sharp, deputy chairman Tom Issa, director Peter Serraro, football manager Daniel Anderson and CEO John Boulous - facing de-registration.

The Eels have been told they are $500,000 over the salary cap and can’t play for points this season unless they shed players.

“If it impacts on next year’s cap it could impact on Corey,” Sutton told The Daily Telegraph.

“It just depends on how much they are over.

“I can’t really worry about it until you get a knock on the door.

“It’s all about how much they’ve got for next year’s cap to do a new contract.

“But if it doesn’t they should be able to keep him.

Norman has been one of the Eels best this season.

“Corey would like to stay first and foremost.

“We’ll probably find out a bit more over the next few days.”

Sutton also manages fullback Michael Gordon, who is off-contract at the end of the season.
