Parramatta Eels star halfback Mitch Moses has denied any semblance of a rift within the squad over the size of their hotel rooms in the team bubble.

The bizarre rumour emerged on Tuesday when NRL 360co-host Paul Kent reported an internal feud over room sizes.

“Some of the more senior players, the better players, have the better rooms with a balcony and all the rest of it,” Kent told NRL 360.

However, Moses profusely denied the rumour, and joked that one player did in fact get the hotel suite of dreams.

“Gutho (Clint Gutherson) got a two-level penthouse or something like that, so I think everyone else is a bit off it,” Moses told reporters.

“That’s just a little bit of noise.

“Look, I don’t know where any of that stuff has come from.

“We know as a group that we’re pretty tight and there’s definitely none of that happening.”

After such a strong and promising start to the season, the Eels’ form has nosedived, mustering up just one win in their last six games.

Despite posting just 22 points in their last three games, Moses maintained the Eels have the plan to fix their latest issues.

“When you’re losing games, people are going to take things out of context,” Moses said.

“The media are going to pick at every little thing. They’re probably going to hear a little whisper here or make up a little whisper there, and then it snowballs.

“We know what’s going on within our circle and we’ve got that pretty tight.

“We’re not really worried with any of the outside noise.

“We know what we’re doing wrong in our games and we need to fix that.

“The only way we can fix that is that we’ve got to focus on ourselves and not so much the opposition.

“We need to get ourselves out of this little form slump that we’re in at the moment and hopefully we can do that this week.”

Moses was also sympathetic to under-fire coach Brad Arthur, as the 47-year-old looks to steer the Eels back into the win column.

“He’s not the one going out there and making the tackles,” Moses said.

“That’s completely on us and we need to be better as a playing group.

“He’s given us good game plans to go out there and perform.

“We’re not really doing that at the moment for him. We’ve got to take a lot of that ownership on us as a football team and as players.

“We need to be better.”

The Eels face the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday who are all but out of finals contention.

Brad Arthur’s side then faces the daunting task of tackling top-two teams Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers in the last two games of the regular season.

Parramatta’s shocking run of form has dropped them from third to sixth in the space of six games, with Manly and the Roosters happily overtaking them on the ladder.

If the Eels fail to arrest a four-game losing streak against the Cowboys, their finals assault will likely be over before it even begins.
