Disbelief as South Sydney Rabbitohs break 113-year-old record
As South Sydney broke several records against the Gold Coast Titans, there was disbelief their star halfback would be leaving the team.
South Sydney has made rugby league history, becoming the first team since 1908 to score 30 points or more in eight consecutive games.
The Rabbitohs achieved the feat early in the second half of their clash with the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday afternoon at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Bunnies have scored with ease all season and showcased their prowess again, with Latrell Mitchell, Josh Mansour, Adam Reynolds and Braidon Burns all scoring tries in the first half as South Sydney led 24-0 at halftime.
The 30-point record was always going to be in danger and a second try to Burns early in the second half ensured this Rabbitohs side became the first team in 113 years to score 30 points in eight games in a row.

The Titans stemmed the damage in the second half but South Sydney ran out comfortable winners in a 36-6 result.
It’s South Sydney’s 10th win in a row and they also broke their record for the most points scored by the Rabbitohs in a season, a fair effort a foundation rugby league club with a long history.
The victory sees the Rabbitohs consolidate third spot on the NRL ladder and sets up a mouth-watering clash with fellow top-four Penrith next weekend.
It was a record-breaking day to remember for Reynolds, who kicked his 100th goal of the season and surpassed his highest-ever points tally in a season at Souths.
But the star halfback will only play a few more games in the red and green, after he was poached by the Brisbane Broncos to play for them next season.
After Reynolds scored his try with a sublime pick up off a kick, Balmain Tigers legend Steve Roach expressed his disbelief the Rabbitohs were letting a player of Reynolds’ calibre go.
“Have a look at the pick-up there from Reynolds. Brilliant! That’s class,” Roach said in commentary on Fox League.
When asked what he thought of the decision to allow Reynolds to leave the club where he has played his entire NRL career, Roach responded: “Don’t start me. I can’t believe it”.
“A brilliant goal kicker, a brilliant player and also a local junior.
“Hello, how would you let him go? Shocking decision.”
