Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and David Fifita have reportedly signed bumper new deals to stay put at the Gold Coast Titans, two months after the pair both became free agents at the same time.

The Courier Mail has reported Fa’asuamaleaui has signed the richest deal in NRL history with a 10-year, $12 million deal, while Fifita has recommitted to a three-year deal worth a reported million dollars a season.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell said the signings showed the pair’s commitment to what the club were building.

“We’re thrilled that both Tino and David have reaffirmed their commitment to the club.” Mitchell said in a statement.

“These are two great young men, talented footballers and important players for us as we work towards our goal of bringing premierships to the Coast.

“Both Tino and David have already made an impact in their time here and as a club, we’re excited to see what they can achieve in our jersey over the coming years.

“The impact that Tino has had within our community is immeasurable.

“Kids in our region already aspire to be like Tino and having him committed for the next decade is a huge boost for our fans and members.

“Our purpose as a club is to make our communities proud, inspire them with energy and unite them through success.

“Tino and David and their families believe in our purpose and I’m excited to see them bring it to life under Des Hasler in 2024.”

The deal eclipses Jason Taumalolo’s 10-year, $10m deal and Daly Cherry-Evans’ eight-year $10m contract.

The deals may be even more lucrative if the deals have clauses to increase as the NRL salary cap increases.

The Titans had been sweating on the signatures when it was revealed that both had their contracts tied to former coach Justin Holbrook.

It meant both men could trigger free agency clauses.

Holbrook was sacked in June and the Titans named Des Hasler as coach for 2024.

But the decision to turn down the trigger and re-sign has with the club has been very lucrative for the Queensland Origin pair.
