The NRL finals will kick off with a blockbuster clash at Panthers Stadium, as the dates and venues for week one have been revealed.

The times and venues for week one of the NRL finals have been unveiled.

After 20 rounds of rugby league, eight clubs remain in contention for the coveted premiership, and two will be knocked out next weekend.

Minor premiership winners the Penrith Panthers and reigning champions the Sydney Roosters will face off for a mouth-watering qualifying final at Panthers Stadium on Friday evening.

Despite earning a home qualifying final, the Melbourne Storm will take on the Parramatta Eels at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After narrowly defeating the Wests Tigers on Saturday evening, the Parramatta Eels secured a spot in the top four, pushing the Canberra Raiders down to fifth spot.

Incredibly, the Cronulla Sharks are yet to defeat any other club in the top eight this season.

Under the current finals system, no club has ever won an NRL premiership after finishing the regular season outside the top four.

But after the South Sydney Rabbitohs embarrassed the Roosters on Friday evening with a record-breaking 60-8 victory, expect the unexpected next weekend.
