The ultimate Dally M 2016 team as decided by all our NRL experts

POLL: The Daily Telegraph and Fox Sports NRL experts put their heads together to come up with the ultimate Dally M 2016 team of the year. They all agreed on just one player.

THERE are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Joey Leilua is the best centre in the NRL.

After The Daily Telegraph asked a host of rugby league experts to select their Dally M Team Of The Year, only one player emerged as a unanimous selection: Raiders wrecking ball Leilua, who was named in all 13 sides.

While Leilua was the only player to feature in every team, his Raiders teammate Josh Hodgson, Storm gun Jesse Bromwich, Cowboys ace Jason Taumalolo and Wests Tigers star James Tedesco were also runaway leaders in the voting for their positions.

DALLY M TEAM OF THE YEAR

James Tedesco (nine votes) was easily No. 1 ahead of Matt Moylan and Darius Boyd (two apiece).

Jordan Rapana (five votes) edged out Suliasi Vunivalu (four) and Josh Mansour (three).

Canberra’s Joey Leilua was a unanimous choice.

James Maloney (eight votes) finished well ahead of Anthony Milford (three).

Veteran Storm half Cooper Cronk (seven votes) edged out Maroons teammate Johnathan Thurston (six).

Jason Taumalolo 11 was the runaway favourite ahead of Trent Merrin (two).

Josh Papalii and Matt Gillett tied with three, Wade Graham and Josh Jackson just behind with two apiece.

Josh Hodgson (11 votes) finished streets ahead of Cameron Smith (two votes).

Jesse Bromwich dominated front row discussions, tallying 11 votes.
