‘Crushing blow’: Tom Trbojevic’s Origin injury means Manly’s season is doomed
Tom Trbojevic’s cruel State of Origin injury is an absolute nightmare for Manly, with the team’s NRL season now all but doomed.
Tom Trbojevic’s NRL season is likely over after he suffered a nasty pectoral injury in NSW’s 32-6 humiliation at the hands of Queensland in State of Origin Game II.
Trbojevic has been under an injury cloud all season with his troublesome hamstring but has earned his way into the Blues team with stellar performances when he’s needed them.

But in just the third minute of play, the Blues saved a try out wide on the left but Trbojevic, who had tackled Reece Walsh on the inside, stayed down clutching his shoulder.
He has had shoulder injuries earlier but the Blues confirmed it was a right pec injury and he was out of the match.
It saw Damien Cook take his place in the centres, a move that saw the Souths hooker playing way out of position.
NSW skipper James Tedesco said he felt for Trbojevic.
“I feel bad for him. He’s been through so many injuries,” Tedesco said post-game.
“He said straight away it’s a torn pec.”
An image of Trbojevic sideline in a sling looking forlorn appeared to spark fears he’ll be out for the season.
Traumatic/explosive pec injury mechanisms like Tom Trbojevicâs unfortunately rarely result in a minor tear - & the use of a sling further increases concern for a complete rupture. Have to hope somehow it isnât as bad as it looks, but not optimistic #Origin

On another note, Turbo's injury sucks for Manly and is another reason why #Origin should be moved to the end of the season.

A high grade pectoral tear can take three to four months to recover from, which would rule the Manly fullback out for the remainder of the NRL season.
There are 11 rounds left in the season and without Trbojevic, Manly could struggle to make finals now.
After a solid start to the season the Sea Eagles are currently 12th on the ladder.
Manly have already had two byes and even with Queensland halfback Daly Cherry-Evans in strong form, Tommy Turbo’s injury might mean Manly’s season is dead and buried already.
The Sea Eagles take on the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night.
