Cherry-Evans’ knock-on over the line in Sea Eagles win
HE IS worth a whopping $10 million, and he is the talk of the competition. But even millionaires make mistakes, right?
BACKING up from State of Origin on Wednesday, Daly Cherry-Evans started the game against the West Tigers with the kind of energy he showed in his rookie year at Manly. However, despite his positive start, the halfback’s efforts just after half time may come back to haunt him.
Gathering a lot of attention lately for his recent backflip on contract negotiations with the Gold Coast Titans, it is fair to say DCE may be the most watched player in the NRL — something to be expected when you sign an 8-year, $10 million contract.
When DCE went through the Tigers defence in the 43rd minute, it looked like a certain try. You would be forgiven for having your money on the Queenslander to seal four points.
Let’s hope for Daly’s sake he holds onto them in future.
$10m and DCE can't hold onto the ball when it matters. #NRLManlyTigers

DCE probs doesn't care because he is still richer than all of us

Dear, oh dear - poor DCE. Been a tough month for the bloke. Well, except the $10m he just signed for. #NRLManlyTigers

DCE has a clause where he can only set up tries, not score them.

Kieran Foran was in excellent form all game, rounding out his night with a hand in three of Manly’s five tries.
Cherry-Evans made up for his early second half blunder a few minutes after the knock-on with a clever chip kick to put Brett Stewart in for his second try of the match.
Directing the home side for the rest of the match, Cherry-Evans played a role in another of the Sea Eagle’s four-pointers, leading them to a 30-20 victory over the West Tigers.
