Queensland fans are licking their wounds after the Origin loss, none more so than a Channel 7 reporter who left Sunrise hosts stunned.

Blues fans are rejoicing after NSW levelled the State of Origin series with a dominant 44-12 win over Queensland in Game 2 on Sunday.

But the heavy loss meant it was a dreary start to the week for the Queensland faithful, and some Maroons supporters woke up on Monday regretting their life choices.

The Sunrise panel was left stunned on Monday morning when Channel 7 sports reporter Katie Brown, a mad Queensland fan, revealed she had lost a bet with her colleague, NSW supporter Michelle Bishop.

“Fortunately my colleague Katie Brown, she’s fronted up this morning,” Bishop said, as the pair did live TV crosses from Perth.

“She lost a bet and I’m sure she can tell you and show you much more about it. She’s hurting this morning like the rest of Queensland.”

Sunrise sports presenter Mark Beretta then asked: “Katie, why don’t you tell us and show us then?”

Brown pulled up her sleeve to unveil a tattoo on her forearm that read “GO THE BLUES” in large blue font.

“I’ve been fake smiling all morning and I’m going to have to continue,” Brown said, visibly cringing.

“But sorry mum and dad, this is a morning of firsts. Yeah, it’s disgusting, it is so disgusting. I told mum and dad I wouldn’t get a tattoo and look, it’s pretty real.

“I’m going to have to go and see a tattoo artist and get that removed this morning, stat, before I fly back tonight.”

Asked how late it was in Perth when she got inked, Brown replied: “How late? It was pretty early (on Monday morning). It was a quick job, it only took a couple of minutes actually.

“I was pretty impressed with the stencil work. It wasn’t free hand.”

Back in the studio, the shocked looks on Brown’s colleagues’ faces said it all.

Beretta and Sally Bowrey couldn’t believe their eyes, while Natalie Barr and Michael Usher had a chuckle at Brown’s expense.

Beretta said: “Katie, you won’t be let into Queensland. You know they’re not going to let you back in to Queensland, don’t you? That is great, we love it Katie!”

Usher added: “I want to know what the revenge is going to be. What’s Michelle going to be up for?”
