THE Broncos are turning to technology to muzzle Jamal Idris as Titans coach John Cartwright yesterday declared the 117kg giant injury free and ready to fire in Friday night's derby.

The Titans' preparations for the Skilled Park showdown received a boost yesterday when Maroons lock Ashley Harrison was cleared to return from a toe injury.

The Coast's hopes of upsetting the Broncos to keep their season alive will soar if NSW Origin enforcer Greg Bird (pectoral muscle) can prove his fitness tomorrow. But, Idris shapes as the backline X-factor, having finally overcome hamstring concerns.

Cartwright said Idris now had total faith in his body.

The Broncos will analyse footage of the 199cm man mountain to prevent a repeat of the demolition job he unleashed on the Raiders last Sunday.

"The past two games Idris has been great so we have to see what he's doing right and shut him down," Broncos utility Ben Hunt said.

"He's ridiculously good when he is playing his best football I don't know what you can do to stop him at his best. As a small bloke, you just have to get in front of him and hope the bigger guys can come across to help.

"The Titans are on a bit of a roll at the moment and a lot of that is down to Jamal."

Cartwright said Idris, the Titans' $1.8 million off-season recruit, would have derived confidence from his powerful incursions through Canberra's left-edge defence.

Broncos utility Alex Glenn, 19cm shorter and 16kg lighter than Idris, was yesterday handed the onerous task of shutting him down.

"Jamal has been good," Cartwright said. "He was very good on the weekend. It's on the back of being injury free and being able to train full-time with no limited duties.

"He did what was expected of him last week. He has had three or four injuries this year that have limited his training but he's been injury free and we've seen the results of it."

Ashley Graham's hopes of winning the NRL's tryscoring title for 2012 have been dealt a severe blow with the North Queensland winger ruled out for one month with a fractured and sprained ankle.
