Bluey’s State of Origin episode just successfully predicted the future

Bluey may be on the path to becoming the next Simpsons with the hit TV show’s State of Origin episode predicting the future with incredible accuracy.

'What's a bin chicken?' US Bluey fans are confused by Australian slang

Fans are convinced Bluey may be about to become the next Simpsons after the hit Aussie TV show predicted the future in its State of Origin episode.

The popular ABC kids show recently released it’s ‘The Decider’ episode from Season 3, where it showed Queensland winning the Origin series.

The State of Origin themed episode was met with critical acclaim in Australia and overseas — and was particularly celebrated for the cameo appearance of rugby league icon Ray Warren as the TV commentator heard in the background of the episode.

“It is winner takes all tonight,” Warren is heard saying at the start of the episode, which also had brief audio cameos from Maroons icon Johnathan Thurston as the expert analyst.

The episode was released before the start of the 2022 series — and the show successfully predicted the series would come down to the Game 3 finale to be decided.

The episode comments on the rollercoaster ride fans from Queensland and NSW endure before the final siren sounds.

It features Bluey watching the big game at home on her TV screen while her friend ‘Chucky’ tries to work out if it is better to support the blue team or the “purple” team.

The match plays out with NSW dominating the first half and taking a lead into half time — just as the Blues did on Wednesday night when they led 12-10 at the break.

The episode also makes special mention of Queensland being denied a try by the video referee. Fans were stunned during Wednesday night’s epic contest when Queensland were denied tries on review by the bunker on seven occasions.

State versus state.
State versus state.

“Hang on a sec, the referee wanted to check if ‘Flogger’ obstructed the defender on the way through. There you go, no try,” Warren was heard saying in commentary.

Bluey’s outraged dad Bandit responds in the episode: “No try! What was wrong with that?”.

The Queensland fans are then called “a bunch of cheats” by a NSW fan.

One of the biggest controversies early in the match was a Queensland try being disallowed after a forward pass from debutant Tom Dearden. The Queensland-supporting characters in the show also argue over a pass that went “forward by a mile” during the half time break.

Just as happened in real life on Wednesday, the episode shows Queensland making a second half comeback to win.

Some fans are even convinced the TV show might have even successfully predicted the 22-12 final score (if you squint).

There were simply too many cases when ‘The Decider’ mirrored real life for fans not to make the connection.

Former Brisbane Lions captain Tom Rockliff was one of the first to point it out.
