NSW skipper Paul Gallen says prop Tim Grant is in no danger of missing Wednesday's second State of Origin clash in Sydney after the giant front-rower limped out of training on Sunday.

Grant, who is preparing to make his debut for the Blues against Queensland at ANZ Stadium, walked off the field at Kogarah Oval after 10 minutes of training with a reported tweaked hamstring.

However, he was walking freely around the team hotel on Monday morning as the Blues departed for a weights session, and Gallen said he fully expected him to take his place in the starting line-up.

"He's been pulled out of most sessions on a precautionary basis as he has an issue with his back," Gallen said.

"It's not his hamstring, it's just coming from his back. It was a heavy track yesterday. He's been pulled out of most sessions but there is no problem there and he'll play."

Gallen refused to add fuel to the flames surrounding the game after Blues coach Ricky Stuart accused Queensland of being smug and arrogant following six straight series wins.

The claims caused outrage north of the Tweed but Gallen said the animosity was just a part of the Origin build-up.

"It's part of the banter that goes on between the two teams," Gallen said.

"There is genuine hatred between the two states and it brings out people's emotions and Ricky wrote what he thought.

"It's all part of Origin. Ricky wrote what he thought. My job is to play footy, Ricky's is how to motivate us and get us to play our best footy.

"They've fired some at us, we've fired some back, it's all part of the biggest sporting event in Australia."
