FORMER Sharks bad-boy Albert Kelly has had his NSW Cup contract torn up by the Newcastle Knights following a court appearance on Tuesday.
The Knights, who stood Kelly down a fortnight ago after being made aware of the incident, officially parted company with the talented five-eighth today after he pleaded guilty in Newcastle Local Court of smashing a light at Newcastle nightclub Fannys back in April.
He was ordered to continue alcohol counselling and will be sentenced later this year.
It was alleged Kelly tried to enter the nightclub but security was alerted because he was on the banned list.
He was told he was not allowed in but stayed around, eventually taking his shirt off and smashing a light.
Kelly was sacked by the Sharks in March after a series of alcohol-related incidents.
