Nick Kyrgios lays boot into fallen German great Becker as war of words drags
Nick Kyrgios has delivered the latest shot in his bitter feud with tennis legend Boris Becker over the German’s ongoing court case dramas.
Nick Kyrgios has taken yet another swipe at German tennis great Boris Becker, labelling his actions as ‘like a 10 year old’ and hinting an ongoing court case over allegations Becker misled UK tax officials over his bankruptcy in 2017.
The six-time Grand Slam champion, 52, is facing a jail term of up to seven years if found guilty of failing to reveal ownership of properties in London and Germany, as well as over a million pounds ($A1.88m) across multiple undisclosed bank accounts.
He appeared in court to plead not guilty this week.
Kyrgios renewed the duo’s war of words with a Twitter post, writing: “@TheBorisBecker maybe we can go back to tweeting and you commenting on my Instagram like a 10 year old after you finish dealing with what you need to deal with”.

Kyrgios was referring to the duo’s ongoing social media spat which again reared its head this week.
Becker angered Kyrgios by commenting on a Laver Cup throwback post by the Australian on Instagram, the German writing “in your dreams” after Kyrgios had captioned a photo of himself playing for Team World as “Different breed”.
“Hating like a little groupie. Lingering around like a bad smell, maybe hoping to get more likes and follows. Unfortunately never be as influential,” Kyrgios replied on Instagram.
Kyrgios continued on Thursday, posting on Twitter: “He’s gone from wanting to coach me, obviously for his desperate need of a pay check, to hating on my Instagram. Strange world we live in.”

The duo’s running stoush dates back some months to Kyrgios’s public attacks on fellow tennis stars over their approach to the COVID-19 crisis.
Kyrgios repeatedly called out rivals for hosting tournaments and partying in the midst of the pandemic, which led Becker to label the Australian a “rat”.
The Aussie later blasted the German as a “doughnut” and “not the sharpest tool in the shed”.
Donât like no #rats ! Anybody telling off fellow sportsman/woman is no friend of mine! Look yourself in the mirror and think your better than us...@NickKyrgios @farfetch
