Football legend Deion Sanders and his long-time fiancee TV producer Tracey Edmonds are calling it quits after 12 years together.

Edmonds broke the news she and Prime were ending their relationship on Sunday night — explaining the decision to split was “mutually decided”.

“We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

“Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!”

There seems to be nothing but admiration between the former couple as Sanders commented on her posts calling her an “amazing woman”, adding that she’s been a “true blessing” to him.

“Love u Tracey and You’ve been a true blessing to me. I appreciate the times we’ve shared and they laughs we’ve had,” the Colorado football coach wrote.

“You are an amazing woman and a tremendous mother. God bless u with every endeavour and every step u take. You are HER. Tracey-Mack !!!”

The powerhouse couple had been engaged for nearly four years, with Edmonds announcing the news on an Instagram post over Valentine’s Day in 2019.

Sanders and Edmonds, both 56, met in 2012 while at a movie premiere party for a film she had produced, according to People.

Following a brief conversation during the party, Sanders asked a friend to get her business card that night.

Sanders would reach out to Edmonds a few months later to pitch her his idea for the reality series Deion’s Family Playbook.

“I started off thinking I was just going to produce [the show],” Edmonds told the magazine back in 2021.

“But as I started working with Deion on the show, we grew quite fond of each other and ended up dating.”

Edmonds, who won shares a 2016 Daytime Emmy with Mario Lopez and Charissa Thompson for co-hosting Extra, said she didn’t expect to date Sanders.

“I would’ve never imagined in a million years that our paths would cross and that we’d end up in a relationship together,” Edmonds said.

The Hall of Fame cornerback told People that his and Edmonds’ relationship worked because they were “at the age and stage where I don’t think neither of us needs a lot.”

Edmonds, who launched the production company Edmonds Entertainment Group in 1993, said she and Sanders’ schedules may conflict, with no natural routine of when they could spend time together.

Still, Sanders’ said they did their “very best to see each other as much as we possibly can.”

The multitalented sports icon understood her work ethic more than most.

“Tracey is a go-getter; she is that. I get up early, and she knows I’m up working out and I’m ready to go get it,” Sanders said at the time.

“It’s a blessing, but we understand each other because we’re busy in our own right.”

The news of their break-up comes less than 24 hours before the college football transfer portal reopens.

Coach Prime will enter his second year as the head coach of Boulder and will be committed to rebuilding the team after multiple high-value recruits de-committed from the program and three of his coaches left.

Sanders was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year despite Colorado’s 4-8 record in 2023.
