Netball fans, rejoice.

Australian netball icon Sue Gaudion is returning to commentary and will be calling the action in this year’s Super Netball season.

The voice of Australian netball will be back behind the microphone doing play-by-play commentary for Fox Netball’s coverage of Super Netball, with the new season to get underway on March 18.

Gaudion will also reunite with netball legend Cath Cox, with the dynamic duo set to delight fans with their famous on air chemistry.

Gaudion, who is currently the general manager of the West Coast Fever and has held a variety of coaching and administration roles over the years, said she was “very, very happy” to be back commentating netball.

“I’m excited to be back” Gaudion told news.com.au.

“It’s what I dearly love to do and whilst I’ve had various roles through the sport this is the one I feel like I thrive in.

“I’ve watched what Fox has done over the last 12 months for the sport and to now be part of that produced, I’m really humbled and grateful.

“I love calling, the emotion behind the call. That’s where I’ll sit for the best part of the season.”

As for rekindling the most dynamic duos in netball alongside, Gaudion couldn’t be more excited.

“It takes time to get that on air chemistry and I’m really lucky that one of my best mates and I have that,” she said.

“It’s just easy. We just read each other really well. And the great thing about it and what the fans like as well is — beyond the professionalism of calling the game you just get those moments of banter, and they’re natural.

“Hopefully we can make everyone feel comfortable through that. Very privileged to be doing something I love alongside a best mate.”

The beloved commentator is predicting another strong campaign for defending champions Fever and the Melbourne Vixens when the season begins next weekend.

“I have to put Fever up there,” Gaudion said.

“I think their pre-season showed last year wasn’t a fluke.

“I’m going to put the (NSW) Swifts up there. I think they’ll strike back even in the absence of Sam Wallace for half of the year. “With Romelda Aiken in they showed in pre-season they’re pretty formidable.

“Adelaide Thunderbirds, I’m going to bring them in but only just. I think there’s lots of excitement for what they’re going to do and I think their season will build. They’ll just need to make sure they get some wins early to get some confidence.

“And if I’m to put a fourth team in there I’ll go with the Melbourne Vixens. They’re an enormously proud club with massive experience. They know how to win and traditionally they win early, which builds confidence.”

Fox Sports and Kayo will broadcast every game, with two games each round to be available to stream for free via Kayo Freebies.

Fox Netball’s magazine shows will return next week with Centre Circle, hosted by Hannah Hollis, kicking off each round from 7pm on Thursday nights, followed by new addition The 4th Qtr vodcast at 7.30pm hosted by newcomer Sarah Karaoglu.

Fan favourite Pivot returns at 5.30pm after the last game every Sunday, with plenty of players on set to discuss the action from the round.

A new documentary series, Off the Court, will air throughout the Super Netball season with eight episodes focusing on a marquee player from each of the eight teams, giving fans an intimate look into their lives and careers on and off the court.

Gaudion and Cox are part of Fox Netball’s table of commentators that also includes Bianca Chatfield, Caitlin Bassett, Kim Green, Madi Browne and new recruits Stacey Francis Bayman and Emily Beaton.
