Supercars star James Courtney announces engagement to model girlfriend

Less than a year after the pair went public, Aussie racing driver James Courtney has announced his engagement to partner Tegan Woodford.

James Courtney has announced his engagement to model girlfriend Tegan Woodford, with the Australian Supercars driver popping the question earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Courtney and Woodford shared an image of their engagement ring to Instagram following a beachside proposal at Hardy Reef on the Great Barrier Reef.

“She said YES!” Courtney captioned the post.

Woodford wrote: “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Australian racing driver Thomas Randle commented: “Congrats guys.”

That’s some nice bling.

Courtney and Woodford went public with their relationship in April last year, with the couple sharing several photos together on social media platforms.

The 41-year-old posted a touching message to Instagram for Woodford’s birthday: “Happy Birthday to my beautiful @tegan. You’re a very special woman that’s brought so much laughter and happiness into my life and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. I love you and love doing life with you.”

In August last year, Courtney apologised after he uploaded a photo of himself baking in the kitchen while Woodford sat on a stool facing the camera wearing a black lace negligee.

In late 2020 it was revealed the Supercars veteran had split with Kyly Boldy, the ex-wife of former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke.

Boldy and Courtney were seen kissing trackside at the 2020 Bathurst 1000 race weekend and went Instagram official in October. But less than six weeks after going public, the pair called it quits with reports the long distance nature of their relationship made it difficult to sustain.

Courtney used to race at the same go-karting club as Boldy’s brother Troy when they were kids and the two have known each other since she was 11. Boldy is a longtime motorsports fan and was a V8 grid girl in her younger days, crowned Miss Indy in 1999.

Courtney’s 16-year marriage with ex-wife Carys broke down in messy fashion in 2017 and he was forced to fight for custody of his two children.
