DUCATI MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone is battling to be fit to race at Le Mans after dislocating a shoulder in a crash during testing ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix.
Iannone, teammate Andrea Dovizioso and Ducati test rider Michele Pirro spent two days testing at the Mugello circuit. Ducati reported that both riders lapped close to the circuit record as they tried out new electronics programs as well as chasing a setup to get the most out of a changed chassis introduced at the last race at Jerez.

Iannone’s crash came at the Arrabbiata 2 corner, a quick uphill left-hander about halfway around the lap, late on the second day.
“It was a useful two-day test and I am happy with how I was doing, even though unfortunately today at the end of the session I crashed at Arrabbiata 2 and banged my left shoulder pretty hard.”
The Italian went for medical checks later in the day where he was diagnosed with a dislocated left shoulder. Ducati say Iannone will undergo treatment in the three days remaining before opening practice gets underway in France on Friday.
