INJURED Australian MotoGP rider Jack Miller has been given the all-clear to ride in pre-season testing at Phillip island next week.

Miller, 21, sat out the first MotoGP test of 2016 in Malaysia after fracturing his right tibia and fibula in a dirt bike accident last month.

The three-day Phillip Island test starts next Wednesday, five weeks before the season-opening MotoGP starts in Qatar.

Miller said he was keen to get on the Honda RCV213V machine in his first season with the Belgian Marc VDS team.

“I’m itching to get back on the bike after such a long lay off and I don’t think we could have chosen a better track at which to return than Phillip Island given my condition.

“With only four right turns it means I’m not going to be working my injured right leg so hard, although it’s still going to be a tough test. “

Forecast rain could challenge all the teams for the three days of testing bike set-ups, especially tyres.
