WWE’s Enzo Amore suffers serious injury during match

A MATCH at a major WWE event was cancelled immediately after a wrestler was injured after being thrown out of the ring.
The No. 1 contender’s tag team match between the Vaudevillains and breakout stars Enzo and Cass at Payback was called off by officials after Enzo Amore suffered a serious injury and was taken from the scene on a stretcher.
Simon Gotch attempted to throw Amore out of the ring, but he slid into the ropes and appeared to suffer whiplash as he made contact. Amore fell to the ground outside the ring and was not responsive to the referee, who signalled for the match to end after doctors reached Amore.
WWE’s Michael Cole said that Amore has been taken to a local medical facility in Chicago, but that he is moving his extremities and talking.

Amore, real name Eric Arndt, is a 30-year-old wrestler from New Jersey who played linebacker and safety at a Division III college before entering the business.
He made a compilation video of himself doing various wrestling moves and cutting a promo and had a mutual friend pass it on to WWE executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who offered him a tryout.
He signed with WWE in 2012 and progressed through the developmental system NXT as a “stereotypical, Jersey Shore loudmouth”. Despite suffering a broken leg in training in 2013 he continued to impress and joined the main roster after WrestleMania this year.
There was an immediate outpouring of support on Twitter from some of the biggest names in the industry.
