Watch out, Usain Bolt! College student Trayvon Bromell runs 9.77s 100m

THAT’S fast. American college student Trayvon Bromell has set the track alight with a phenomenal 9.77 seconds in the 100 metres. Watch him run.

THIS kid is fast.

Eighteen-year-old sprint sensation Trayvon Bromell blew away the competition with a phenomenal 9.77 seconds in the 100 metres at the Big 12 outdoor track and field championships in Lubbock, Texas.

The time would have shattered the US national college record but for a tailwind of 4.2 metres per second. A legal wind is 2.6m/s or less.

Still, the time was good enough for the third-fastest in college history.

Florida State’s Ngoni Makusha, a Zimbabwean sprinter, set the college record of 9.89 in 2011, while Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt broke his own world record with a sensational 9.58 in 2009.

Bromell would’ve gone under 10 seconds, wind or no wind, according to his coach at Baylor University, Todd Harbour.

“He got off to a great start, and just ran incredible,” Harbour said.
