THE good news keeps coming for Australian athletics with Olympic champion Sally Pearson’s comeback continuing to show encouraging signs.

While Nitro Athletics is taking off in Melbourne, the sport’s biggest star is in Germany resurrecting her career.

In the second race of her European indoor tour, Pearson finished third in the final of the 60m hurdles at the Istaf Indoor event in Berlin.

She clocked 7.91sec — the exact same time she registered last week in Karlsruhe where she finished third behind outdoor world record holder Kendra Harrison.

German Cindy Roleder, a silver medallist at the 2015 world championships, claimed victory in 7.85sec from teammate Pamela Dutkiewicz (7.88sec).

Pearson, who is now self-coached, is on the comeback trail after achilles and hamstring problems forced her out of last year’s Rio Olympics.

The 30-year-old has endured a horror two years with a broken wrist forcing her out of the 2015 world championships.

After briefly contemplating retirement, the 2011 world champion is now focused on returning to her best for next year’s Commonwealth Games in her hometown of the Gold Coast.

Pearson has two more indoor races planned on this European adventure, in Dublin and Birmingham over the next week.

Australia’s Olympic discus thrower Benn Harradine also competed in Berlin, finishing sixth with a best of throw of 59.84m.
