GREEN Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has admitted that he plays as the Socceroos in popular video game, FIFA.
Fielding questions from his locker in the Packers dressing room, media were mostly interested in Green Bay’s upcoming playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys and how Rodgers was coping with a troublesome calf injury.
But then came a question from left field.
One reporter asked the Super Bowl MVP the origin of his touchdown celebration where he fist-pumps lifting his arm in the air while jumping.
“It’s an enjoyment of playing the FIFA soccer game actually, on the Xbox. And there used to be, I don’t know if there still is now, but there’s an occasional celebration that resembles that,” Rodgers said.
When asked who he normally plays as, Rodgers gave a surprising answer.
“On the game I usually use Australia actually, the Socceroos,” he said.
If true, it is unknown exactly why Rodgers plays as the Australia, but it could have something to do with the green and gold which are not too different to Green Bay’s team colours.
