Netball Australia reappoints Jane Searle and Jane Woodlands-Thompson to lead Fast5 side

THEY led Australia to a pair of silvers at recent events and now Jane Searle and Jane Woodlands-Thompson are being given the chance to coach our Fast5 netball team to gold on home turf.

THEY led Australia to a pair of silvers at recent events and now Jane Searle and Jane Woodlands-Thompson are being given the chance to coach our Fast5 netball team to gold on home turf.

Netball Australia has reappointed Jane Searle and Jane Woodlands-Thompson as Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the Fast5 World Series in Melbourne in October.

Searle, a former Australian player with 15 international Test appearances, was Victorian Institute of Sport netball coach for 10 years and was also Australian Assistant Coach between 2003-2006.

She then coached South African Coach in 2003 and has recently worked as a specialist coach for the Diamond.

Seale was a long time coach of the Thunderbirds and is also a former Diamonds assistant coach.

“The coaching duo led our Australian Fast5 Team to silver at the 2013 and 2014 Fast5 World Series in Auckland in our most successful campaigns to date,’’ said Netball Australia’s Head of High Performance Andrew Collins.

“After the Diamonds’ victories at the Commonwealth Games and Netball World Cup SYDNEY, we are determined to add another gold medal to the cabinet for Australian netball.

“Our two Janes have a wealth of experience and have what it takes to support our talent leading into our next cycle towards Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018.”
