FOURTEEN-year old Sydney snowboarder Ben Tudhope will become our youngest ever winter Paralympian if he is named in Australia's team for the Sochi Games tomorrow.

Tudhope, who has Cerebral palsy and partial paralysis on his left side, has been training and competing in Europe since November in a bid to earn a wildcard spot on Australia's team for the Games from March 7-16.

The team will be announced by Australian Paralympic Committee president Glenn Tasker about 10am on Tuesday.

Tudhope competes in para-snowboard cross, which is making its Games debut in Russia.

Like motorcross, it includes jumps and berms but on the snow where competitors snowboard over the course and the fastest time wins.

While Tudhope is on the verge of his Paralympic debut, at the other end of the scale is 30-year-old Cameron Rahles-Rahbula, who had to be talked out of retirement last year to compete in his fourth Games in Sochi.

The dual Paralympic winter bronze medallist in alpine skiing last month told News Limited he would be joined by his wife and their two-year-old son in Sochi for his Games swansong.

Rahles-Rahbula is the only member of the Australian team still in the country and is expected to join his teammates in Europe later this week.

Most of the Australian team is currently competing in Switzerland before gathering in Austria en route to Sochi after the Winter Olympics finish on February 23.

Australia's winter Paralympic team will be led by a new generation of athletes following the retirement of experienced campaigners Bart Bunting, Shannon Dallas and Marty Mayberry after the Vancouver Games in 2010.
