Kayo Freebies kick off thirty weeks of 30 For 30 free with Hillsborough doco

Michael Jordan and The Last Dance captured the world’s imagination last year but that just scratched the surface of sports doco brilliance.

Sport: Finished The Last Dance? Here are five great sports docs to watch next

If The Last Dance wasn’t enough to scratch your sports documentary itch, then Kayo is about to deliver what you need.

Since 2009, ESPN Films, the same people who bought you the 10-part look into Michael Jordan’s sixth and final NBA title, have released more than 100 of the greatest sporting documentaries ever seen through the 30 For 30 brand.

ESPN Films have honed the craft of sports documentaries down to a fine art with all the documentaries available on Kayo.

But for those using Kayo Freebies, Australia’s number one sports streaming service is set to make select 30 For 30 documentaries available for free over the next 30 weeks.

Kayo will drop one ESPN 30 for 30 documentary every Wednesday, for the next 30 weeks starting from Wednesday April 13 for registered Kayo Freebies users nationwide.

Kayo Freebies is available by simply downloading the Kayo App or visiting the website at kayosports.com.au/freebies and creating an account.

Kayo Freebies are free, and no credit card details are required to sign up and start streaming.

Along with sports including V8 Supercars, among others, Kayo Freebies continues to expand its catalogue following the announcement that a slew of new local sports would be available to view, including VFL, Intrust Super Cup, Women’s National Cricket League and Club Cricket Finals, the Hockey One competition and the NSW and Queensland Opens in golf.

The addition of 30 For 30 documentaries takes it to a new level.

Sports fans will be taken on a journey through the biggest stories in sport from around the globe, exploring the inspirational personalities and history-making moments that have shaped sporting history.

Each documentary takes a deep dive into these moments and personalities, with stories of extraordinary achievement through to devastating disasters, and record breaking feats.

Some riveting documentaries are set to drop over the next few weeks, covering stories such as that of NBA legend Reggie Miller, who single-handedly crushed the hearts of New York Nicks fans in 1995 while leading the Indiana Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals, and the story of American golf icon John Daly from his first PGA Championship win.

The Hillsborough documentary will drop on April 14th, 32 years after the fatal disaster during the 1989 FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough Stadium that caused 96 deaths and left 766 injured.
