Teenage surfing prodigy Chrislyn Simpson-Kane has become the youngest woman to tow surf Pe’ahi in Hawaii.
In difficult conditions, the 13-year-old tackled one of surfing’s most intimidating swells with ease last weekend — and her career has only just begun.

“I towed Pe’ahi today and it was exhilarating, scary, and crazy good!” Simpson-Kane posted to Instagram.
“I felt like puking after my first wave but it got better afterwards. I cannot thank aunty @andreamollermaui for calling me up and inviting me out today, for all the practice time you’ve given me and for believing in me that I was ready for today. Thank you for today!
“I’ll remember today forever.”
Simpson-Kane comes from a family of talented surfers — her older brother bagged a spectacular barrel at Jaws earlier this month.

“First time I saw Pe’ahi I was super nervous,” she told Magicseaweed.
“I watched from the channel with Andrea Moller and she explained the wave to me and what it was capable of and what to expect. She towed me into my first few waves before the wind picked up and I was super stoked.
“It taught me in order to accomplish your goals, you need to be working to be better today than yesterday and to be better tomorrow than today.”
