Caroline Buchanan, Sam Willoughby headline BMX team for world champs
AUSTRALIA’S top BMX riders Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan will take their next step towards Olympic redemption in Rio at the world championships in Colombia next month.
AUSTRALIA’S top BMX riders Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan will take their next step towards Olympic redemption in Rio at the world championships in Colombia next month.
The pair will today be announced in Australia’s 15-rider team for the worlds which form a crucial part of their preparation for the Olympics in August.
Willoughby will be joined in the men’s team by Anthony Dean who has recovered from a broken collarbone, Bodi Turner, Alex Cameron, Matthew Juster, Corey Frieswyk, Joshua Callan, Kai Sakakibara and Tristyn Kronk.
Buchanan headlines the elite women’s team alongside Lauren Reynolds, Melinda McLeod, Kirsten Dellar, Leanna Curtis and Rachel Smith.
The world titles will be held from May 23-29.
