Boxing champ’s seven-year-old daughter goes viral after stunning recovery

The daughter of a world champion boxer showed her pedigree by making up a 50m deficit in a 200m race after losing her shoe.

Boxing world champion Terence Crawford isn’t the only star athlete in his family.

Crawford shared an amazing video of his daughter destroying the competition in a track race – despite losing her shoe.

The lineal lightweight champ posted on Instagram showing his girl Lay Lay falling way behind the rest of the field before flying back to win.

Crawford, 34, couldn’t hide his pride at seeing his daughter’s amazing race.

Seven-year-old Lay Lay fell 50m adrift of her competitors when her shoe came off as she leapt out of the blocks.

By the time she retrieved the sneaker, the race appeared to be over for her.

But she incredibly powered down the back straight and overtook her competitors.

The final victory margin was an emphatic 10m from the second-placed finisher.

Crawford posted: “I just can’t stop thinking about my daughters track meet yesterday.

“She just doesn’t have a clue how much she just motivated me.

“This is the definition of not giving, heart and grit. “She let it all hang out even when she was hit with adversity.”

He wasn’t the only one impressed. Footage of the race went viral on Monday and even caught the eye of former 200m world record holder Michael Johnson.

“Okay. If you do nothing else today, watch this kid!” Johnson tweeted.
