The clip has amassed over 10 million views on Ball’s TikTok account and took the internet by storm.

As the moment was debated among social media users, Ball addressed the incident.

“For me, I was just there doing what I always do and filming and working on my swing. I just stayed so calm because I was concentrating on what I needed to do which was practice,” she said toSky Sports News.

“To be honest, I am a humble person, it is not in me to call him out or say I am a PGA pro, it is just not in me to do that.

“I have a lot of conversations with a lot of different people. All of the things I receive are positive and I am always up for tips and advice but everything I do get is mostly supportive.

“I just carried on doing what I was doing, working on my swing. It was an awkward conversation at the time but as I say, I was just concentrating on what I was doing.

“All I was thinking was concentrate on this next shot and hit it as best as I can.

“I posted that and I am so grateful that it has brought so much attention to golf and is going to grow the game and get so many people involved.

The unseen man in the video started the conversation by saying “excuse me”, and then he launched into how she wasn’t using the proper technique for her swing.

Taking a very longwinded approach, the stranger explained that Ms Ball was going too slowly on her swing, which was impacting her game.

“What you are doing there … you shouldn’t be doing that,” he advised.

Ms Ball tried to explain that she was working on a new technique and going through a swing change. He interrupted again …. to let her know why he knew best.

He told her he’d been playing golf for over two decades and continued to explain that she needed to work on her follow-through.

Her perfect swing was clearly designed to show the man that she knew what she was doing …. which absolutely didn’t work.

The man then promptly took credit for her incredible swing.

“See how much better that was?” he said.

Online people were floored by the man’s audacity; Ball has built up a cult following online and has amassed over three million likes on TikTok by sharing both tips and tricks, as well as her golfing achievements.

Sure, the man had no idea who she was, but anyone with some eyeballs could conclude she didn’t need help.

Even when her swing was slow, it was obvious that she knew what she was doing.

Someone called the man’s actions textbook “mansplaining”. Another said he was a man who had never seen “mansplaining” in action before, until now.

Another noticed that the man immediately took “credit” for her swing, and someone else said the man’s behaviour was like having the confidence to offer Lewis Hamilton driving tips.
